Remember the amazing Bond-themed cupcakes she made for everyone?
Read on to find out more about Jules, her cake and catering company SnuggleMuffin, and a fantastic exclusive offer for GYP members on SnuggleMuffin’s cupcakes!
What’s your background?
I grew up in a little village called Tillicoultry at the foot of the Ochil Hills and moved to Glasgow in 2009 to study Business at Strathclyde.
Tell us about your company.
I run a cake and catering company called SnuggleMuffin. It’s been running for the past three and a half years now and has changed and developed so much over that time.
At the moment it is mostly wedding cakes in Glasgow and corporate events that keep us busy but who knows what the future holds! The best thing about it is that it’s my baby, every day of work is new and exciting and I can’t wait to get stuck in!
It’s a cliché but I would travel the world. I am so fascinated by different cities and cultures and there are so many breathtaking sights to be seen. I have spent the past two summers working abroad (Florida and Dubai) and it has been a real eye opener to what is out there. I’m itching to get away on my next adventure.
When you’re not working what do you enjoy doing?
When I’m not working I will usually be exploring new places or making music. I play guitar and piano and I sing so that keeps me busy a lot of the time. You may see me at the occasional open mic night in Glasgow!
Great read: Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
Film: The Adjustment Bureau
Why did you join GYP? Any advice for new members or those thinking about coming to their first event?
I joined GYP for both business and personal reasons. It is a great way to make connections for work and market SnuggleMuffin a little, but it is also fantastic for meeting a great bunch of like minded people. I have made quite a few very good friends through GYP.
My advice for new members is don’t be shy! Just go up and introduce yourself to people. Everyone has been in the same situation and will appreciate you initiating the conversation.
My second piece of advice would be to get to the sausage rolls as soon as they are put out at monthly drinks – they are always the first to go!
What has been your favourite GYP event and why?
The James Bond Quiz Night was a fantastic evening, it was lovely to see everybody dressed up (although I was very disappointed to learn that none of the gentlemen knew how to tie a real bow tie!)
Which upcoming GYP event are you most looking forward to?
The Burns Supper and Ceilidh looks set to be a great evening. Food, drink, dancing and great company – what more could we need?
Are you a member of any other networking groups?
Not currently. Any recommendations?
SnuggleMuffin are kindly offering GYP members an exclusive 20% discount on all cupcakes bought online! Just use the coupon code GYPDISCOUNT when ordering to take advantage of this fantastic offer.
