#GYPSeminarSeries

After the huge success of our first seminar – we are absolutely thrilled to present another great speaker and one of Scotland’s finest business people – Iain MacRitchie who shall present ‘The Glasgow DNA, tips in building a successful career.’

After leading the development of a pioneering coating technology in an SME, Iain became MD at 28 driving a rapid global expansion with start-ups in the USA and Far East. The multiple award winning company was acquired by a UK plc where Iain remained for 3 years revitalising a division of 6 European plants.

In 1998 he set up MCR Holdings to help implement growth strategies and in this role has been CEO or Chairman in retail, consumer, business services, technology, healthcare and manufacturing businesses. Iain has been a strategy adviser to over 100 companies and completed 15 Exec Chairman appointments with financial returns standing at just under £500m and an average 6-fold increase in company profits. He has also founded and led 3 startups.

Iain has a passion for helping nurture talent to overcome social or economic disadvantage. He established his Charitable Foundation in 2006 with multiple Glasgow based education projects now helping to realise the potential of over 300 young people disadvantaged through no fault of their own. Over the next 3 years Iain is devoting his time to extend the reach of his MCR Pathways programme ten fold across all the city’s secondary schools and establish it as a national benchmark. He was recently recognised with a UK Points of Light Award by the Prime Minister for the MCR Pathways impact.

Iain shall discuss the importance of ‘balance’ and how the broad variety of activities he takes part in help enrich a career that is every bit sustainable as it is successful. It promises to be an interesting, insightful and inspiring evening.
